EVERYONE DESERVES THE CHANCE
TO SKATE ON GREAT ICE.

Whether you’re a professional athlete or a beginner learning to skate at a community rink, there’s nothing like the feeling of your skate blades gliding on perfect ice. At CIMCO, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy that amazing experience—now, and in the future.

The history of ice skating began on frozen ponds. Today, those same ponds are freezing and melting earlier because of climate change. While modern refrigerants have made everything from ice rink chillers to air conditioning in our homes and cars possible, they have also contributed to global warming. Governments across the globe have set ambitious goals to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. As an industry, it's on us to help make sure we hit those targets, and that future generations can continue to participate in the winter pastimes and sports we all love.

Accelerating Sustainable Growth: Our commitment to climate action
With mounting worldwide concerns over global warming and the effect it will have on our way of life, CIMCO pledges to make a difference and challenge the traditional ways the refrigeration industry has operated to date.

The Future of Refrigeration

At CIMCO, the ice rink refrigeration systems we manufacture are part of the solution.

We've already built thousands of environmentally conscious rinks across North America, including the rink at Evergreen Brick Works, Toronto’s preeminent leader in sustainable practices for cities, and Oak Park Ice Rink in Stockton, CA, which will be the state’s first CO₂ ice rink. In our ice rink refrigeration packages, we use ammonia and CO₂, climate-friendly refrigerants with zero or negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP), because climate change is about science, and science says these natural refrigerants are the most environmentally friendly choice for right now, and for the future. We also offer heat-recovery technology, which helps ice rinks be more energy efficient, reducing their costs—and their carbon footprint.

We Put Hockey On Ice
Whether you're looking for recreational ice companies that can help you build a brand new net-zero facility, or you're updating an existing arena to avoid the continued phase outs of synthetic refrigerants with high GWP, we have the packaged refrigeration products and expertise to make it all happen, with technology that’s customizable, cost-effective and built to last.

Through advanced refrigeration design and smart analytics, Eco Chill capitalizes on the science of thermal dynamics to maximize building efficiency. Our heat recovery technology keeps costs low, without compromising ice quality, while climate-friendly refrigerants ammonia and CO₂ ensure that you’re net-zero ready.

Powered by ammonia or CO₂, this ice rink refrigeration system provides high quality ice, and will ensure your facility is running on future-proof natural refrigerants that won't be phased out. In terms of safety, the self-contained refrigerant provides the lowest charge available in the industry.

For facilities where an engine room is not available or desired, our Breakaway ice rink refrigeration package is a compact standalone system that is built for the elements and can be installed outdoors for minimum intrusion. It runs on climate-friendly CO₂ refrigerant.

Meet our traditional ice rink package. Not only does it run on ammonia, a climate-friendly refrigerant that has been used in ice rinks since the 1920s, but it also features tried-and-tested components such as shell and tube chillers and reciprocating compressors.
